Our Executive Director, Rebecca Powe, had the honor of participating in a reader’s play this past weekend on August 26th, Women’s Equality Day. The event took place at the Red & White Gallery in Fayetteville, Tx. The play was written, produced, and directed by Elota Patton and Janis Richardson of the South Central League of Women Voters. The League of Women Voters are nonpartisan. www.lwvsouthcentraltx.org
The reader’s play is meant to bring attention to the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) that was first proposed in December 1923 (100yrs ago!!) The ask is to create equal rights regardless of gender; however, the amendment still has not been passed.
